Story of The Boat

Tony
I'm a professional boat builder who bought this boat in May 2018 to build my dream vessel as a personal project. I am the second owner. The boat had sustained minor damage during Hurricane Irma to gelcoat surfaces — only nicks and cuts here and there — but it was challenging work to match the gelcoat color, which turned out beautifully. Every piece of hardware was stolen from the boat during the hurricane, so every single item had to be purchased and replaced with new parts. Eventually, everything on this boat except the hull is new. The center console is also completely new. All works have been documented. The boat has been fully insured by Progressive since 2018, is registered in Florida, and has a clean Florida Title. This boat does not have a warranty. I recently had to relocate to Asia for work, and it is no longer feasible for me to keep the boat. I finished the refurbishing work to the point where it makes the most sense for a new owner to take over and choose the personal touches that will truly make the boat their own. I have extensive knowledge about the boat and I am happy to share information with the new owner.

What's Still Left to Do Before She's Ready

I want to be upfront about what work remains. I hope this list gives you a solid foundation. Feel free to reach out — even after you've bought the boat.

1. Install Your Preferred Outboard Motor, Controls, and Steering Package

The engine controls, steering, and wire harness needs to be routed from the console through a channel under the deck to the stern. All other instrumentation and electronics cables needs to be pulled through, and to hook up switch panel with all electronics. The engine installation requires battery installation and engine-related connections. For this reason, I have not connected the electronics cables — I have only routed them to the stern, next to the electrical fuse boxes and panel.

Note: I have not installed underwater lights, a fresh water pump, a raw water (sea) pump, or a fresh water tank. I have left the cable conduits at the stern open for easy installation. If you decide against installing underwater lights, the conduits need to be sealed with epoxy such as TotalBoat Thixo.

If you plan to use the forward fishbox, you'll also need to install a forward fishbox pump-out system and pump strainer — If you don't plan to use the fishbox, you only need to install a drain plug in it.

2. Install Instruments to Dash

Now the fun part: install your instruments.

I have designed a dash panel in CAD for the console. If you want to use my model outline, you can order a custom dash panel with instrument cutouts tailored to your instruments. I'll send you a CAD file of the console outline to make job easy.

3. A Few Final Jobs Before You're Ready to Launch
  • Run a hose from the bilge pump to the starboard-side thru-hull — both are already in place, this just needs connecting.
  • Connect the livewell seacock valve to the livewell drain fitting with a hose. Both ends are already installed and waiting.
  • Fit a thru-hull to the forward fishbox drain rail and hook it up to the hose and drain valve already in place.
  • Fit a gap-filling bar between the bow deck hatch hinge and hull, then secure the hatch hinge to the hull. This is the missing part: the bar from McMaster-Carr. (I ran out of time to finish this before my move to Asia — my apologies!)
  • Swap out the latch lever on the Gemlux compression latch on the bow anchor locker hatch for a longer one — the current lever doesn't lock properly. I'll take care of ordering the part for you.
4. Go Fishing and Enjoy! 🎣
